Commitment to achieving Net Zero
Webdoctor IE Limited is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2030.
Baseline Emissions Footprint
Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Emissions reduction targets
In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets.
We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 53918.88 tCO2e by 2029. This is a reduction of 20%
Carbon Reduction Projects
Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives
The following environmental management measures and projects have been completed or implemented since the 2023 baseline. The carbon emission reduction achieved by these schemes equate to 0 tCO2e, a 0%ge reduction against the 2023 baseline and the measures will be in effect when performing the contract.
As this is our baseline year for emissions reporting, we are still in the process of wholy defining our carbon reduction policy, however, the following carbon reduction projects and policies are in place:
- Recycled Equipment Initiative
- Objective:
- To minimise waste and reduce the carbon footprint associated with the production and disposal of electronic equipment by prioritising the use of recycled or refurbished equipment over purchasing new items.
- Implementation:
- Established a procurement policy that prioritises buying refurbished computers, servers, and other necessary electronic equipment, ensuring they meet our operational requirements.
- Partnered with certified suppliers of refurbished electronics that guarantee the performance and reliability of their products, offering a sustainable alternative to new equipment.
- Launched an internal platform for employees to exchange or donate unused or old equipment within the organisation, extending the lifecycle of electronic devices and reducing e-waste.
- Impact:
- Achieved a significant reduction in the organisation’s carbon footprint by decreasing demand for new electronic manufacturing and its associated emissions.
- Recorded a 30% decrease in electronic waste generated by the company over the past year.
- Saved approximately 20% in costs related to purchasing electronic equipment compared to previous years when new items were bought.
- Objective:
- Work from Home by Default Initiative
- Objective:
- To reduce carbon emissions associated with daily commutes, lower operational costs related to maintaining physical office spaces, and support employee well-being by adopting a work-from-home (WFH) model as the default.
- Implementation:
- Implemented a comprehensive WFH policy that encourages employees to work remotely, providing them with the necessary tools and technologies, such as secure VPN access, collaboration software, and digital communication platforms.
- Conducted regular training sessions on remote work best practices, focusing on maintaining productivity, ensuring cybersecurity, and promoting work-life balance.
- Offered stipends for home office setups to ensure employees have ergonomic and efficient workspaces.
- Impact:
- Reduced the carbon footprint of the organisation by cutting down on daily employee commutes, saving an estimated 5,000 kg of CO2 emissions per month.
- Reported a 10% increase in employee productivity and a 25% increase in job satisfaction scores, attributed to the flexibility and reduced stress from commuting.
- Decreased operational expenses by 15% due to reduced needs for office space and utilities.
- Objective:
In the future we hope to implement further measures such as:
- Completion of ISO14001 to implement a formal Environmental Management System across our business processes
- Formalising training and awareness building processes and activities for our company
- Reviewing our suppliers to ensure that they we are working with partners with established green hosting and cloud services
- Promote the use of electric and hybrid vehicles (where public transport is not a viable option) for employees, including awareness-building of where employees can get further information
